really great characters and tension throughout both books however the main storyline was short, is this the end ?

This is right up there with my favourite fantasy books. The worldbuilding and magic system are incredible, the whole shadow concept is brilliant and so intriguing., add in a cast of great characters and a gripping story, and I was hooked. Some secrets have already been revealed, but it’s clear there are plenty more to come, and those last few chapters… WTH!

I’ve seen a few people say this gives off a dark Harry Potter vibe, and I totally get that. So far, I’m really enjoying Elias and Arthur (some of Arthur’s scenes were so sad and sweet, perfect for a hopeless romantic like me). I’m also fascinated to see what happens with Kallos 😏, though I’m not letting myself get too attached, knowing this author, my feelings about certain “favourite” characters could change very quickly! loved them so much I'm off to re listen to both books again.
