In 1888 Paris, American bookseller Emma Greene opens a small shop in the Latin Quarter, only to become the prime suspect when a department-store magnate dies under suspicious circumstances. To clear her name, she joins forces with a guarded inspector from the Sûreté and enters a glittering world of ambition, blackmail, and deadly secrets. For fans of Rhys Bowen and Deanna Raybourn.

A simply delightful historical cozy mystery with a twisty, utterly riveting plot and richly drawn characters. I especially loved the worldbuilding and the slow-burn romance. The story is particularly well narrated by Bobbie Gentili.

A review copy of this book was sent to me by the narrator. All of the above opinions are my own.

Utterly riveting.
