I loved this audiobook and suggest it be listened to by all young people. It provides clear, structured strategies aimed at helping teens reshape their inner dialogue. The section on identifying negative self‑talk patterns stood out—it explains how thoughts like “I’ll fail” can be caught and reframed. Practical affirmations are woven throughout, such as “I am capable,” which are repeated in a way that feels natural rather than forced. A guided 5‑minute mindfulness exercise helps listeners notice thoughts without judgment. Tips on setting small personal goals also help reinforce positive self‑belief over time. The narrator’s calm tone offers a reassuring listening experience. A valuable resource for teen confidence.

I had never really thought about self-talk even though I do it daily. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it. This audiobook made me reflect on times when I am doing it. Primarily when I'm running and struggling and just want to give up. I tell myself "I can do it." The author does a great job of explaining the benefits... as well as the negatives... of self-talk. The power it can hold over us.

This is a very comprehensive book that goes in depth on why we talk to ourselves and why sometimes we compare or allow others to judge us. With social media seemingly everywhere, it's so easy to get caught up in comparing ourselves to them but we're only seeing the final result, not the journey it took for them to get to that position. Same goes for ourselves. If you've never heard of self-talk or are just curious about it, this is an excellent resource!

Fantastic Listen!!
