Glorious until the end. A description that gives a feeling of a Battle that cost between 4500 and 6000 lives plus the horrifically maimed. Rupert's narration I never tire of.

Very good narration, another very enjoyable tale which again left me wanting to find out what happens next. Damn you Hakeswill!

Another great Sahrp

Another brilliant instalment of rattlingly good action and drama. This story sees the return of the diabolical Hakeswill. The narrator is absolutely superb.

Top drawer stuff

I have been loving the Sharpe series and Rupert Farley is a joy to listen to. The narrator can make or break the audiobook experience - it doesn't matter how good the book is if I can't cope with the narration. But Mr Farley is wonderful - he is engaging and able to do the various accents convincingly (at least I think so) without being awkward or irritating to listen to.

Brilliant books, superb narrator

I can pretty much copy and paste these reviews because of their consistency. The read for these audiobooks have taken many of their cues and flavour from the TV series which were obviously based on the books themselves. Everything feels connected. The books are quite compact but so much happens, both on and off the field of battle.. Through the accents are far from perfect the do achieve in giving each individual 'character' What can be a little distracting is when Rupert Farley voices the female characters, it's not effective. But it's so good the rest of the time that the read is still worth 5 stars.

I love these Sharp books
