Summary

Holmes and Watson are on the trail of seemingly unrelated deaths preceded by sudden unexplained madness as they work to solve the case of the abominable worm. Are the deaths murders? And if so, what is the motive and who is responsible? Can Holmes and Watson solve the mystery of the abominable worm before her Majesty's navy experiences an unprecedented two-fold loss.

Rebecca St. John has established herself as a force to be reckoned with in London's mysterious spiritual world and the hidden world of London's private clubs. But she wants more. She wants to be the next Professor Moriarty and she has the brains, the looks, and the drive to succeed if she can outwit Holmes and bring her first large scale criminal scheme to a successful conclusion.

Join Holmes, Watson, Mycroft, Inspector MacDonald and the Baker Street Irregulars on a cat and mouse high stakes game of mystery and deduction. This time, the game is afoot, and she is a formidable opponent indeed.

An entertaining and unusual Holmes and Watson story. The strange death of a lawyer involves Holmes in a macabre case of espionage and pits him against a ruthless adversary. Well written with excellent strong well described characters. Narration is excellent although Michael allows his accents to slip occasionally. Overall I really enjoyed this one, and will be happy to read more by this author and narrator. Highly recommended. I received a complimentary copy of the audio and an leaving a honest voluntary review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Holmes story. Fully immersed in it over a week, Never once was I bored or did not rush to pick up the audiobook.
It is a great compliment to the narrator.
Writing in the style of the master, easy to forget it is not written by Conan Doyle.

This audiobook was a good Holmes and Watson story. I listen to many of these types of books. I recommend it.

The narrators various voices were good.
The only small issue I had was the upward lilt of the last word in each sentence that became annoying.

Good Holmes & Watson story

This story is told from third person and while a lot of it is told from Watsons point of view it also jumps around. Holmes does very little deductive work. it feels like the story was dragged out much longer than it needed to be and the story was designed to setup a new nemesis for Holmes only I can't work out why she is considered Holmes equal other than the fact they both like to put on disguises.

Not really a holmes story
