About this listen

Waking up hungover in the sheep pen is the least of my problems.

The worst? A foreclosure notice for my family farm.

Scratch that. The actual worst is the woman delivering the news: my ex, who broke my heart and left me behind for the big city.

I’ve spent a decade trying to forget Lia Thorne, and now she’s the only one who can help my family dig ourselves out from our crushing debt and even stronger egos.

I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. And if I go along with Lia’s new-fangled scheme, maybe I can win back more than my finances …

Just as long as my meddling grandma and her spoiled sheep don’t interfere.

Since You’ve Bean Gone kicks off the Farm 2 Forking crop of laugh out loud romantic comedies set on Bedd Fellows Farm.

Dig into this swoony, unputdownable second-chance romance by USA Today bestselling author Lainey Davis and buckle up for an un-baa-lievable ride.

This is the first book in the Farm 2 Forking Series, a small town romantic comedy. This is a multi-authors series. Lia and Ethan's story is sweet, emotional, fun, and entertaining. Ethan is handsome, and supportive. Lia is beautiful, smart, and strong. This is a beautifully written second chance romance. The supporting characters are great. Alastair Haynesbridge and Erin Mallon did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. I like Lainey Davis's writing. Looking forward to more in the series!

Lots of fun intended puns, animal/pet antics, family bickering and small town feels. Fork Lick is the place to be. Erin Mallon gives her voice to Lia, sweet, trusting and following her dream. Alastair Haynesbridge narrates Ethan, technophobe extraordinaire, older brother with a lot on his shoulders, sometimes misunderstood but at times not willing to understand.
Despite not being a long book it set us nicely into the series, what’s going to happen with the family farm and the other characters.

This is my first Lainey Davis book and I have to say I really enjoyed it.
The story went from funny to serious as Lainey has highlighted an illness that one of her characters has,and we get to see through the characters eyes how hard and diabilitating it can be living with an invisible illness.
This story takes place in the small town of Fork Lick.
Ethan's grandfather dies and he inherits Bedd fellows farm to manage but his grandfather has left the farm in ALOT of debt and they need to find ways to make money to get out of debt...They decide to grow and sell strawberries.
Lia is the financial advisor for the farm..she used to live in Fork Lick and dated Ethan they were high school sweethearts, and were very much in love.
But Lia left town and ghosted Ethan breaking his heart...She didn't mean to hurt him but Lia was dealing with an unexpected illness that needed her to be in the city so she could see the doctors there and recieve her medication.
Lia has Crohn's disease..I really connected with Lia and understood her pain and how her life had to be modified because of her illness..I don't have crohn's but I do have a digestive disorder that causes all sorts of digestive and bowel problems..So I got how embarrassing and helpless you feel sometimes and a burden to your family.
Being back in town and seeing Lia on the farm helping out with advice etc...The attraction between them is still there and it is easy between them.
But the past has to be acknowledged and Ethan wants answers to why she left ...When Ethan finds out he is really protective and caring about her situation...and I swooned at his considerate, attentive and kind side.
You can see this is a second chance romance but there is a problem as Lia has a boyfriend in the city a doctor and a selfish assh*le.
I wish I could find someone like Ethan who was such a great care giver and understanding to Lia's needs.
The Narration to this Audiobook is Excellent Erin Mallon and Alastair Haynesbridge are just so Amazing at telling the story and portraying these characters.
Their comedy timing is perfect and they deliver the emotional lines just as ideally and I loved listening to them.
Since You've Bean Gone is a lovely romance funny, sweet, and a bit steamy it was such a pleasure to listen to...Now I want to listen to ALL the other books in this series.
LOved it.

Ethan & Lia's story was an easy listen. Narrators were great and I enjoyed the small town, second chance romance. There was some fun moments and Grandma is just fabulous but I think Baarbara steals the show. Lainey Davis is a new to me author and I am keen to read/listen to more of her books.
