Jessica Jackson has hit all her personal milestones for turning thirty – the career, the loving boyfriend and a cosy London flat they share with their cat. But a breast cancer diagnosis turns Jess’s world upside down, and her contented life implodes with it.

Around her, her friends’ lives continue to follow the script, with the big white weddings and the baby scans. With her own future so uncertain, the only thing Jess is sure of is that she’s being left behind.

But then she meets Annabel, an enigmatic twenty-seven year old with incurable cancer. While Annabel may not have long left, she understands much more about living than anyone Jess has ever met. And she’s determined to show Jess how to make every day count . . .

Very true reflection on what cancer patients go through, As a cancer patient myself, I did enjoy this book. It made me feel like I wasn't alone.

A true reflection

One of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s kind of in the really good chick flick category but with the added mix of the main character being diagnosed with cancer. It’s beautiful, funny, and heartwarming. One of my friends just got diagnosed and reading this book at the same time as her diagnosis really helped me to understand and be ‘ normal’ around her. One gem of a book ❤️❤️

Single Bald Female is full of emotions. You easily get attached to the Lead characters. However it's filled with unnecessary colourful language (too much use of the F word in my opinion), and bad advice, as if the meaning of fun is defined by sex and booze. How things get in the way of "fun" like cancer, marriage and kids.
With that said, the story is very well written and you see a side of cancer that you couldn't understand if you never had the disease. I saw one of my best friend deteriorating after breast cancer secondaries (after being given the all clear and then receiving the news that it had spread everywhere and dying shortly after her 30th birthday), and I must say that the author did so well at portraying the pain and the agony.
The narrator did an excellent job, bringing the book to life!
Love the addition of the cat! Animals are great support.

A lot of emotions

Really enjoyed this story. I wouldn't normally read anything like this but cant explain how fab it was, honest and raw and really enjoyed every minute.
Would have loved more detail on the second part of the story as i really think there is so much more that could have been shared . But that being said i really loved it.

Simply Fabulous

A beautiful, full circle story. An amazing insight of cancer life. What I loved the most was that Laura really captures the people. The person you are. Cancer does not define people. The people and their personalities are often blurred by the ‘girl with cancer’ title. When we are just normal girls up for a laugh and a good time! Whilst fighting for our lives. A great British story to be shared with anyone and everyone and a great gift for anyone going through treatment who needs to be reminded who they are whilst going through treatment.
