About this listen

From the incomparable New York Times best-selling author Bertrice Small comes a heroine as breathtaking as she is legendary.

Indomitable and bold in an era of royalty and rogues, Skye O'Malley is a woman who embraces her unbridled sensuality as valiantly as she fights for her children, her lovers, her empire. A woman of justice and honor, she will match wits with and challenge the most dangerous and powerful woman of her time: Queen Elizabeth I.

Though Skye is the object of every man's fantasy, only a handful have had the thrill of tasting her enticing passions - men whose own daring adventures match her exotic forays into a world of lust, longing, and remarkable destiny. Skye's is a stunning tale that reaches from the emerald hills of Ireland to the lush palaces of Algiers to the helm of a shipping empire, where she will wage her greatest battle for love and vengeance against the crown itself.

Contains mature themes.

I love adventure but this was just too much! Just getting over one saga, then dumped into another.

It was a rollercoaster to begin with, my heart was broken on more than one occasion but in the end, I was bored and I didn't like the heroine. I won't be continuing with the series or trying another book of hers for a while.

far too long!

I don't know where to start with this review. I basically devoured this book, couldn't put it down. but as to whether I liked it?? I just don't know! I struggled to empathise to or warm to any of the characters. But the story was quite a ride! Though lots of triggers that my modern day mindset couldn't get on board with. However, I do think it was well-written by the author, and well presented by the narrator.

speechless!

Not my normal sort of historical novel I really enjoyed this book, the story rolls along with not a moments dull chapter Whist I have been held up in bed with a broken ankle Would highly recommend

A good romping story

I greatly enjoyed how the storyline is dovetailed with royal history of this era. The storyline is interesting and doesn’t stall given its 20+hrs in length.
