2004. Serge, Rosie and Daniel are enjoying their final weeks of university. They are young, inseparable and full of optimism.

Fifteen years later, they are guests at a lavish four-day wedding in Provence - and no longer friends.

Life has not turned out quite as planned since their heady days at Oxford. Film-maker Serge is winning awards, but hiding a huge debt and a fractured relationship. Behind Rosie's social ease, she is heartbroken. And with Daniel's fame has come spiralling anxiety.

Now, with four days of organised fun ahead, all three are armed with their best conversation and brightest smile. At least everyone is following the same script: do not bring up the past. But as the Champagne flows, appearances slip and true feelings emerge.

Perfect for fans of THE WEDDING PEOPLE, THREE DAYS IN JUNE and BLUE SISTERS, this is a funny, poignant and beautifully observed examination of relationships, class, money and pretending to have it all.

The quintessential beach read - if fun, pacey and beautifully written books about complicated friendships are your SPF of choice . . . a brilliant chronicle of class, money and relationships (Pandora Sykes)
Secrets, lies and long-held regrets riddle this fabulously stylish and funny novel (Wendy Holden)
An absorbingly astute novel about friendship, love and whether you really can have it all
You won't be able to put this one down!
[A] witty, poignant tale of friendship and ambition
Completely engrossing - I read this in one sitting. Francesca Hornak's writing is so sensitive and perceptive, and her observations make reading such a joy. It's a hugely entertaining read, but also manages to be thought-provoking and touching. I loved it! (Rebecca Wait, author of I'M SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY)
Witty, poignant
I really adored it. Brilliantly funny, whip-smart, sharply observed, compulsively readable. My favourite sort of novel - great perspicacity and wit with a light touch (Lottie Moggach, author of BRIXTON HILL)
Sharp, clever, and achingly relatable (Justin Myers, author of THE LEADING MAN)

These characters in this book were the same age as me, so I enjoyed the cultural references, it made me feel quite nostalgic. Francesca’s characters are all very flawed but their misunderstandings and weaknesses are tenderly laid out so that you can’t help but quite like them, which I enjoyed. There are some very funny moments. Overall loved it and thoroughly recommend as an immersive read with an ultimately hopeful and cheery outcome.

Subtly hilarious, I binge-listened!

Hornak is an incredibly perceptive observer of human nature. All of these characters felt so believable and I was rooting for all of them. A great listen
