I’m a massive Pulp fan so I was instantly drawn to this memoir. I enjoyed learning more about the band and their trials and tribulations. What let the audio book down was the narration. It’s Nick’s story so it makes sense he tell it. There was something off for me. I don’t know if it was the emphasis, cadence or the stilted performance but I didn’t find him to be a natural narrator. I still love the story and the band though!

Being a mid 50s ex indie band member this book was a breath of fresh air. Staying away from the crass stereotype of 90s bands. Nicks writing and delivery brought back great memories and emotions from a great period of British music. Well worth a listen x
