About this listen

Ever walked into a room and instantly thought, “Everyone here definitely knows I’m awkward”? Congratulations—you’re human. But if that thought has been running your life like a pushy roommate who never pays rent, this book is your new best friend.

Social Anxiety and Shyness is your thrilling, inspiring, motivational, and actionable roadmap out of the panic spiral—packed with science-backed techniques, real-life case studies, bite-sized psychology, and a surprising number of metaphors involving snakes.

Why This Book Works (Really Works)

  • It turns your anxiety into “the snake”—an external creature you can tame rather than a personality flaw you’re stuck with.
  • It teaches you how to stop feeding the anxiety monster, break vicious thought loops, and shut down the “What-If Circus.”
  • It gives you therapist-approved strategies (CBT, mindfulness, ACT) in everyday language you’ll actually remember.
  • It includes real case studies—Andrea, Harry, Sophie, Katie, Daniel—so you can see how real people defeated real social fears.
  • It blends mindset work, life skills, communication hacks, body-language secrets, confidence training, and nutrition tips.
  • It transforms Automatic Negative Thoughts (those ANTs!) into PETs—Positive Empowering Thoughts.

Whether your anxiety shows up as sweaty palms, blushing, catastrophic thinking, or the overwhelming urge to run from small talk, this guide hands you the tools to stop spiraling and start thriving.

By the final chapter, you’ll not only understand anxiety—you’ll know exactly how to dismantle it piece by piece, creating a calmer, more connected, more confident life.

If you’re ready for less dread and more life… this book is ready for you.

So this book should be great, it has a lot of information. The chapters are well organized and laid out.

This book feels like ALL the usual information on social anxiety in one package. And if that sounds good to you then great but it fails to feel like a book and is more like several extended blog posts in one. That's not a bad thing but it feels formulaic and almost too broad so it acts more like a reference book. But at the same time, that allows you to pick and choose which of their many exercises to choose from.

I like how they have encouraged professional help and used examples with their exercises and the voicing was good. I feel odd with audiobooks with only 5 star reviews and yet the kindle is undiscovered. In the end I set my expectations high and it didn't reach it.

A decent guide on social anxiety

The book gives a very full description of the disorder. It also gives a wide choice of tools to help deal with what can be a horrendous condition. The listener can gain immediate relief using these tools.
