I found this an interesting book covering all aspects of Sociology. The lectures covered a broad range of subjects ranging from social class, race, crime, poverty, education, culture, family and the research methodology. The subjects covered have been a great help with researching sociology for my degree.

I was attracted to this book as it covers a large range of topics, but this point is sadly rather illusory. The main issue is that the author only speaks about topics in the context of contemporary America. As an oppressed European, I initially thought it was interesting to see how life was in the land of the free. However, this becomes rather frustrating after a while, because after all, sociology is a universal subject affecting all humans across all time, so investigating it through the lens of contemporary America is like looking at the Mona Lisa through a keyhole.

I've read other books on sociology but this one was very interesting and very informative the only thing I would say is the narrators voice was a bit annoying but besides that highly recommend
