For the first time, books 1-6 of the popular series Solar Dragons Need Love, Too! have been bundled together. Pick up the catch-up collection today and support the continuation of this hilarious series full of memorable characters and exciting action!

Being one of the only humans in Meteoropolis is tough. Thank goodness I'm also fused with a Solar Dragon.

Taken from my old life with little memory of what brought me here, I wake up in a high tech capsule. A wrinkly old elf tells me that my soul is incomplete and has been fused with that of a Solar Dragon to give me a second chance at life. Where? When? An urban metropolis filled with fantasy races, erected atop the back of a giant asteroid. Meteoropolis. And millions of years in the future, to boot.

But that's not all. I've got super powers, too. To add to the excitement, I end up hosted by an anxious unicorn elf named Pinky Peach who is basically a professional gamer girl.

Add to that a feisty flower sprite and a hissfolk beauty who end up forming a curious truce based around me and, well, life in this strange city seems pretty interesting.

But it won't be all unicorns and flowers. Dr. Luna wants me to use my rare draconic powers for good... You know, like a superhero.

Can I handle my host, my Splice Partner, my new friends, and my secret day job? Whatever happens, I'll definitely be advocating for myself. Solar Dragons need love, too, you know.

First off, Alyssa is a good narrator and gives the performance a lot of energy.
But, since Virgil is wholesale reusing some of his characters from other stories (in personality at least), hearing Alyssa do them all over again with a different name gets a bit old.

The story is fun and starts with a decent and some what original premise, but suffers from the stakes aiming to be too high.
Which then climaxes way too soon with a painfully over powered MC (who still needs saving by Deus ex machina) volumes 5 & 6 aren't that great from the story point of view.
The spicy stuff is good, but not as good as Virgil's books that have two narrators.

The in universe statement of the next few books to be going back to wacky slice of life high jinks, seems like the best choice.

Wore out it's premise and a too much recycling

I know a lot of people have this series rather fairly high compared to much of Virgils works, but I think the main problem for me in this scenario is the lack of a male VA for the MMC. Sometimes it can work, but most of the time when female VA do male voices it really just puts me off and I struggle with focusing on the story. If they try to do a deep voice it sounds awful and if the run with a more normal pitched voice it sounds like a prepubescent kid which for a character supposed to interact with a harem just does not work out in my head. This, matched with the particular writing style Virgil chose for the story and the MMC just did not work out for me. I might in the future try to read it on ebook to see how it goes then. Anyway, it might work out better for others as i'm a bit picky on this subject.
