About this listen

AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES & USA TODAY BESTSELLER!

From the bestselling author of the Shadow Beast Shifter series, Jaymin Eve, comes SPELLCASTER an all-new, intense enemies-to-lovers romantasy with steamy heat, magical creatures, fast pacing, and stakes that will keep you hooked. Told in duet narration featuring Savannah Peachwood and Jason Clarke, dive into a world where love is as dangerous as power—and nothing is ever as it seems...

Welcome to Weatherstone College…

Don’t walk the halls late at night.
Don’t disturb the ancient magic.
And don’t, under any circumstances, ever trust a spellcaster.

When my magic bloomed at twenty-two, the last thing I expected was to receive an acceptance letter to the most prestigious witch college in the world. It’s not that I don’t have magic. It’s just…unpredictable. But with Weatherstone a part of my family legacy, I’m determined to live up to their expectations.

A task that’s almost derailed on my very first day when I come face-to-face with Logan Kingston, the son of my father’s enemy. I’m warned to avoid the powerful spellcaster at all costs, but apparently Logan did not receive the same memo. The more time I spend around him, the more I crave his unsettling attention, and as hate flirts with obsession, I’m left wondering if there’s another side to the decades-old feud between our fathers.

On top of that, Weatherstone is not at all like I expected. Built on the ancient blood of necromancers and battle, the magic here is as unpredictable as mine, and I sense a dark energy stalking my footsteps. When a monster attacks me, I have no choice but to turn to the strongest warlock in our school: Logan.

After all, to fight a monster, I’ll need a monster.

I think this is the best book I've read in a long time that covers all my favourite things. Witchcraft, otherworlds alongside our known world. Enemies to lovers trope. Passion that's deep, intense in areas and leaves you wanting more. Brilliant intro to the series. Great quick read, now all I have to do is be patient and wait for the next audiobook. I loved the voice actors too.

🎧 Audiobook Narrated By: Savannah Peachwood and Jason Clarke
Length: 10 hrs and 4 mins

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I was kept on the edge of my seat by the narrator.
I love duet narration, and both of the voice actors were good. I did struggle to understand some of the males' speech, at times, as his voice, when talking as mfc was so deep, though delicious, but the accent he used along with his tone, made it quite hard for my ears to pick it up, sadly.🥺 With the other male characters, he was great, though!
The female voice actor did a wonderful job throughout. It was also her doing all of the general narration.👏

I really loved this story. I usually do enjoy Academy/College settings when they're done right, and this was definitely done right.🙌 However, it does have quite sinister undertones without going into full 'dark gothic academia', imo.

Paisley, the fmc, is just starting at the most prodigious magical college in the world. Her four siblings and her parents all attend/ed as well. Unfortunately, her magic was late in blooming, and it's only trickling out, so she doesn't know her affinity yet, but they suspect/hope she holds a lot of power.

On her first day, she's warned about a new, older student starting. His family has a blood oath against hers!😳 (We aren't really told what that means, but it's implied it's very bad!) His name is Logan. When she finally meets him, he is absolutely stunning and brimming with power. He scares her with his intensity, but he calls her precious!😉 Their families used to be friends until she was four years old, and he was always very protective of her.🤷🏻‍♀️

Soon, Paisley starts feeling like she's being watched, but it has danger signals going off in her! Then the first attempt on her life is made, and Logan seems to save her!?🤔

The tension, danger, and creepiness increase. Her and her three new friends all try to get to the bottom of what is going on - without success.

I really hope the next book comes out fairly quickly because the hook for the ending of this book was BRUTAL!🤦🏻‍♀️ It's a good job that I'm a gluton for punishment when it comes to a good series.😆

I highly recommend this new 'magical' series.😍⭐️
