Let me start by saying Philip Bird gives a wonderful performance of this short by Jerome K. Jerome. Much of what is written although about 19th century melodrama would equally well transfer to many contemporary television programs and movies. I find his writing very funny and of course must add humor is so much personal taste. But I laughed out loud at some of his turns of phrase. And it is a very happy way to spend just under two hours listening to this.
