Good story, following the career of Richard Bolitho. Very good narration. I look forward to the next Bolitho story.

I suspect I am like many on Audible who will be drawn to this title. I read, these books as a youngster, loved them and fancied reliving the adventures. But was it as good? I think the very simple answer is yes! Kent of course displays sound knowledge of naval history and delivers exciting yarns which Michael Jayston does a thoroughly good job of narrating. Maybe some of the newer authors of naval historical fiction have developed the genre further but from my listen to Stand Into Danger it can still hold its head up high!

I notice sadly that the previous two books are not available and that there are gaps later in the series on Audible's roster. I'd say don't let that put you off, there's still a great deal of enjoyment to be had here and enough of the backstory is clear enough to mean that isn't a concern.

As good as all those years ago

The excellent narration of this tale immediately draws one back through time as Richard Bolitho joins his first ship as a Third Lieutenant aboard HMS Destiny. I could feel myself joining Richard in all his adventures - feel the storms and blistering heat of the Caribbean, and shared the joys and pain he felt. A truly superb experience.

Another masterpiece
