I loved diving into the second book in this series. It keeps that strong connection to the original characters from book one, which made it feel familiar and comforting, yet it still delivers a completely fresh and compelling story of its own. The focus on an addict’s struggles is handled in such an honest, gripping way that I couldn’t stop listening. The narration is, once again, excellent — bringing depth, emotion, and real heart to every moment. A brilliant continuation of the series.

A really strong second instalment, this one worked better for me than the first. Jude’s story isn’t about the addiction years themselves, but about the hard, honest work of rebuilding his life after prison and staying sober. Sarina handles the topic with so much care, and both Jude and Sophie feel genuinely well drawn. It’s emotional, a little suspenseful, and quietly hopeful in all the right ways.

Dual narration was great.
