Summary

A Warhammer 40,000 Audio

Follow in the footsteps of Hadeya Etsul as she is consolidated into a Cadian armoured regiment and put in command of a Leman Russ Demolisher, Steel Tread. Can she win the trust of her dysfunctional crew and pilot the tank to victory on a do-or-die campaign?

Listen to it because: against the backdrop of an increasingly desperate conflict, tanker Hadeya Etsul finds herself consolidated into a Cadian regiment and placed in command of the Leman Russ Demolisher Steel Tread, where she must try to rally a dysfunctional crew together in order to survive a death-or-glory offensive.

The story: on the war-torn world of Croatoas, the armies of the Astra Militarum do battle with the twisted servants of the Ruinous Powers. Against the backdrop of this increasingly desperate conflict, tanker Hadeya Etsul finds herself consolidated into a Cadian regiment and placed in command of the Leman Russ Demolisher Steel Tread. Haunted by nightmares, surrounded by a dysfunctional crew and striving to find her place amidst a proud and insular regiment with a culture so different from her own, Etsul must guide her crew to victory. But as her regiment rolls out beneath the poisonous light of the Great Rift to join a death-or-glory offensive, the crew of Steel Tread are about to face the fight of their lives. If they cannot learn to work as one, how can they hope to survive?

Took abit to get an into, but a decent audiobook once it got going and shows how bleak a life the imperial guards actually has.

Strong characters and decent story arc

wouldn't a female commander be adressed as ma'am, and not sir? I think the author ought todo some research too into armored warfare in general. for example I think "on the way" is the lingo for firing.

strange adresses

book was great ending was amazing and and the narrators voicing of Shannon-bor (spelling maybe off) is amazing, however I did enjoy the voices of the whole crew.

The best guard book I’ve read so far, read this after Baneblade as seemed like a good transition and I wasn’t wrong

Rubbish start I'll be honest. But if you can grit your teeth and bear through it it gets so much better as you get along. Highly reccomend.
