Kitty and Simon find a spaceship. They build a fleet of spaceships. They meet aliens who want to kill them. They kill them back. They meet other aliens who want to befriend them. They make friends and kill more of the bad aliens. That’s all the books in the series in summary. Not big on originality in the big picture, with a few interesting ideas in the detail. Several of the main characters are almost identical though, and the two principles are annoyingly sanctimonious. The writing is technically average but the storytelling is good. I struggled to get through the series and I won’t be buying any more.

Loved the story, excellent narration and likeable characters.

It is a well paced series, managed all 4 books in under two weeks. A great space opera to pass the time.

Setup nicely for a new series, a real shame we will not be seeing any more books from Bob, congratulations Bob on a great series.

I was hooked by these characters and the situation immediately and have listened to these 4 books for well over a week, night and day, spinning back hours of sleep. It's a tale well told... not absolutely perfect but as a reader it more than does the job. I loved being in that world, and the basic idea of it is (I'd say) in most of our opinions exactly the right thing to do with such a find.
