Critic reviews

"Packed full of twists, O'Malley creates a lively and absorbing world." ( Daily Express on The Rook)

The change in narrator was a bad decision and disappointing. Every time she mispronounced a name I mentally corrected her, which was distracting. However, more annoying was how she split sentances so the narrative didn't flow as well as it should and spoilt the action at times.
Story was good, but rambled a bit at times. I still found myself laughing out loud at parts and it was enjoyable, perhaps not quite as good as The Rook. I put that down to the narrator and if it had been read by the previous narrator and I'm sure it would've given it 5 stars all round.

Shame about the narration

Great story. Shame it was ruined by the fact that no one on the production team could be bothered to read the first book. After the first book was all about Myfanwy's identity how could they get this so wrong?

Inexcusable mistake on Myfanwy's name and accent.

The narrator could be better though. They should have kept the narrator from the first book, who was fantastic!

Great story

I'm so sad about the change in the narrator. The accents are horrible, the mispronunciations are distracting and I want more Myfanway (Miffany)

Loved concept, enjoyed story, hated narrator
