This audiobook has highlighted a problem which I didn’t really acknowledge as a problem. That is, that overthinking has become a constant loop that my mind has accepted as normal. But after listening to this audiobook I know I can make changes and get my mind to rest when my body rests. The author breaks down the effects of DBT and CBT in laymans language so the audiobook is easy to follow. The treatments and therapies are non-invasive and help treat a variety of disorders and behaviours that affect mental health. The self-hypnosis, and Mind Swap Action are therapies that seem to be very effective in helping the mind to switch off. I highly recommend this audiobook as a resource to get a better understanding of how overthinking is so detrimental to mental health

Practical, but Not for Everyone. The content is solid, offering a good overview of different therapeutic approaches. I appreciated the practical exercises and the focus on rewiring your mind. However, I found the self-hypnosis part a bit cheesy and not as effective as the CBT/DBT sections. The narrator, Kevin Harries, has a pleasant voice, but at times the pacing felt a little slow. It's a good starting point if you're new to these concepts, but if you're already familiar with them, you might find some of the information repetitive.
