This book addresses how ruminating affects our behavior. I had experienced an extreme lack of empathy during an emergency surgery at a so called top hospital. I was so upset with the way that the doctor talked to me that I could not stop ruminating regarding his unkind attitude. I was so shocked that I was not able to address the issue for almost a month. I really found this book to be especially helpful in making me realize how ruminating does not help get the problem resolved.

I always saw myself as a pretty disciplined person but in spurts, and reading this book taught me that it’s my fault but it also isn’t. The chapter about setting yourself up to win was my favorite bit in the book because it told me that while I probably wasn’t doing what I needed to, little distractions like my phone being next to me made staying on track difficult, and if I could just put it somewhere out of sight it would make all the difference (which it did). Amazing book

This was by far the easiest to follow, and the most insightful book I have read so far among the overthinking books.
