About this listen

In the year 2057, the world has become a corporate-run utopia for the super-rich, and a hellhole for all the rest.

Catherine "Cat" Leblanc is an orphan that is about as far from super-rich as one can be. When the Incursion alarms start blaring and the sky starts raining hungry xenos, it's just another blemish on an already piss-poor afternoon.

Stray Cat Strut is a cyberpunk magical-girl alien-invasion LitRPG that's exactly as wild as it sounds.

Loved the story - the pacing was excellent, and the narration was great - though a little 'chirpy' given that the main character was a teenage girl that had gone through some horrific experiences and found herself in the middle of an invasion.

fantastic story .. but ... a little chirpy?

I liked:
- the amazing life the voice actress gave to kath
- her coolness and attitude
- the social interactions. Good secondary and tertiary characters
- the world building. The extracts at the beginning of each chapter in conjunction with the actual storytold world creates a very physical reality that is easy to take in
- the tech progressing. I'm surprised none of it felt contrived, yet all of it felt cool. Tech got its spotlight!
I only kind of disliked:
- Cath seeming to take too long discussing stuff with Myalis in situations that seemed urgent. However, this never seemed to impact the story in a meaningful annoying way, thus I think I'm getting used to it.

Can't wait to start on book number two... Kath facing post-incursion challenges of both social and corporate nature are something I am looking forward to.

A snarky cat with a great attitude to life

After a friend suggested this to me after listening to the tower of Somnus, I’m glad to say this scratches the same cyberpunk/rpg itch

Great story set in a cyberpunk world

This book is good. The characters are good people, the settings is really interesting and the narration was great. This is one of the only books I can think of that I enjoyed the chapter intros for, going through the difficulty of getting a second narrator was above and beyond.

The end to the book was a brilliant concussion it left it a great place if there isn't a next one or you don't get it and it made me really look forward to the next one.

Thanks author, I really enjoyed this book.

A sweet book
