About this listen

Willa Knight: Dead? Alive? Damned to a state of eternal bad luck?

Willa and the Abcurse brothers are back, and more determined than ever to stick by each other. Unfortunately, Staviti has other plans, plans that threaten to change the natural order of the worlds—though nobody really understands why. His agenda may very well affect all beings on Minatsol, even those that thought themselves safe in Topia. Even Willa-invincible-Knight.

Unsure with her new place in the worlds, Willa must follow the Abcurses to their new post: Champions Peak, a secluded mountain far from civilization, where the most powerful sols have been summoned to hone their abilities through direct contact with the gods. There is a chance that she might survive her time on the mountain, but it seems like staying alive amidst the powerful occupants of the Peak is the least of her concerns. Her real problem is staying on the mountain at all.

That last bit, Peakia! She's not what I thought and I'm laughing again.

I said it before and I'll say it again. It's not the best book, the plot is light, the romance is sweet and cosy.
The dark humour around Willa's life growing up is like me when I tell a traumatic story. You can't tell if I'm affected because of the way I'm telling it, but the words coming out of my mouth are not okay, then I somehow say something, so me, you laugh and the uncomfortable part goes away.
Yup, it's a book of light depth and chaos in itself.

That's not the bit that's not great about these books. That bit is the audio version voices of the guys, which now switch up. The feeling if we could hear the Guys POVs it could be even better. Also, the smex is lacking, I expected it to be hotter, but it's lacking in those In-between bits that make you fan yourself and wonder if you should just read this in the shower so it's easy to turn the cold spray on.

In all, it's a good book, and a series I'm addicted to. It's made me laugh out like a demented possibly dangerous person having an inner monologue with my inner Harley!
