Summary

Poor Sir Buckstone Abbott, Bart! Not only does he own in Walsingford Hall, one of the least attractive stately homes in the country, but he has to take in paying guests to keep it upright. So when it seems a rich (if not very nice) continental princess might buy it, he's overjoyed - particularly as he's being rooked by the publisher of his sporting memoirs. His daughter Jane comes up trumps in the company of the playwright Joe - but not before engagements are broken and fortunes lost and made.©2006 The Trustees of the Wodehouse Estate (P)2014 Audible, Inc. A classic Wodehouse farce with all coming right in the end. A very funny and clever light read.

This was a great story, narration was brilliant as always. Jonathan Cecil, has the right tone and voices for the characters. I definitely recommend this.

Classic Wodehouse and Cecil too. He takes you right there with them, faultless narrative by a master.

It is so funny and warm, even some real romance. It is always a delight to read Wodehouse but tais gives me a warm feeling in my heart.

One of my absolute favourites of Wodehouse

I love Blandings stories, and some of the Jeeves novels are good too. I think this is my favourite novel of Wodehouse that isn't part of a series. It has great characters and plot, and with this audiobook, Cecil exceeds his usual high standard in his performance.

Probably my favourite Wodehouse stand-alone story
