About this listen

This is the first of three novellas in The Cosy Cottage Café audiobook series.

Allie Jones loves her cosy cottage café in the picturesque village of Heatherlea. She has her independence, two grown-up children and two cute cats. Life is settled, and she thinks she's happy.

Author Chris Monroe has it all. Critical success, a luxurious London apartment, and the kind of jet-set lifestyle most people dream of. But something's missing.

When a family bereavement throws these two old friends together, they begin to question the true meaning of happiness.

Love is in the air, but do Allie and Chris have room in their hands-on lives for more than a summer fling?

I was waiting for something to happen and then it was over. I’m not quite sure we really got to know the characters or if there was even a plot but it was a nice, short, easy listen.

It was OK

Story was quite good but the voice of the author was more like a market trader! Sorry!

Love a happy ending!

Really love this series! Interesting and relatable characters, lovely ‘feel’ to the storyline and whilst the narration (only in a few places) sounded a little ‘tired’ (reading rather than telling perhaps?) I still enjoyed it overall. The books are short though so paying with a credit for 3-5 hours rather than other books which are usually 10-12 hours or even longer, seems a little steep!

Stories as cosy as the café sounds

Something to take you back in time … it’s like my mother’s magazines from the 1960s.. it’s so bad… so very very bad I have high hope my cat has a book in them..

Wow Mills and Boons.. meets Jackie Magazine meets My Weekly
