The war is on....

After dropping out a semester short of college graduation, Bailey Madison inherits the management of her family's struggling ice cream shop in Seward, Alaska. When Kingsley Tours needs her prime location to expand their business into the Last Frontier, Bailey must use her wits and creative ice cream recipes to save her shop.

Usually carefree and self-centered, Brahms Kingsley must prove to his father he can buckle down and lead Kingsley Tours as the company grows. But how can he close Bailey's shop when she still holds a place in his heart?

Brahms must choose between pleasing his father and earning the love of a woman he never forgot.

My thanks to the author for this free audio book in return for an honest review
Bailey and Brahms (loved the names), a pair of star crossed lovers, re-united after a series of misfortunes cause their separation. Bailey is now the owner of the family ice cream parlour in Alaska, a business about to be bought out by Kingsley Tours (owned by Brahms's father).
Bailey tries to fight the take over and her love for Brahms but as she loses the ice cream parlour and Brahms, her life takes a turn for the better allowing her to make choices she never dared before.
This is a shortish love story and, yes, it does have a happy ending. It was quaint and cute, suitable as a quiet afternoon read and suitable for a broad age range.
My only gripe was with the narrator who tried too hard to pronounce the words correctly, to the point where I was willing the narrator to relax a bit and ‘normalise’. Listening did become grating so I could only listen to the story in short bursts. Hence the lower overall rating.

Quaint and cute
