About this listen

It’s high summer when Molly Pargeter drags her amiably bickering family to a rented Tuscan villa for the holidays. Molly is sure that the house is the perfect setting for their three-week getaway, but soon she becomes fascinated by the lives of the absent owners and things start to go horribly wrong.©1988 Advenpress Ltd (P)2014 Audible, Inc. The narrator of this story was superb. He was so good and the dialogue so funny, the story itself was secondary although entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.

Brilliant Narration

I enjoyed this tale of a family holiday in Tuscany that didn't go according to plan not least owing to a scam to extract cash from them. A humorous mix of family tensions with a bit of amateur detection by the wife as she searches for the truth about a missing landlord and an unexpected death. A light-hearted romp of a book greatly enhanced by the narration by Martin Jarvis who enlivens the text with his vocal abilities.

Enjoyable antidote to gritty crime stories

Lots if fun! An amusing tale set in Tuscany… wonderfully read by MJ who is undoubtedly one of the best narrators there is.

Loved it! Very witty story of a family holiday with mystery and farce combined.
So good to have a story set in Italy that doesn’t involve a gloomy 30-something looking for love.

Brilliant!
