In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one.

He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything.

Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game.

Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities.

With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job.

His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

Surprisingly, not a whole lot changed. Politicians were still corrupt. Banks still held onto your money. And criminals still committed crime.

Though the black market has become more readily available.

And in that not-so-black market, Felix discovers he has a way to make his power useful after all, and grasps a hold of his chance with both hands.

The concept and story is something that I've never heard of before and I really enjoyed exploring the world with Felix and his chaotic good personality. Though the story was enthralling I couldn't help but feel like something was missing especially later in the book. It felt like the characters were almost going through the motions and they were just reacting to a generic evil rather than there actually being an antagonist. That being said I really enjoyed it and I very much look forward to listening to the next book in the series to see how it pans out.

In all I would definitely recommend this book, it's exciting, the characters have some great personalities and the concept is just a brilliant idea.

Just read it, it was fun. Unfortunately the sequel is not yet done, but all good things come to those who wait.

loved this. listened to it in one big hit and loved the story and characters especially Andrea and her pancake shouts. just got book 2

This was a very fun
and easy listening story.
had many video game litrpg themes and I enjoyed it.
may not be for people who can't get past the fact it is a Anti-hero story. Still was a great story and looking forward to book 2.
