My god do I love surprises. This novel? Took me totally off guard in the best ways. Dark and twisted, but so original? The plot was gorgeous to get lost in. As were the characters. I can’t say much more without revealing more. It’s a thriller alright, and added those gorgeous heat levels, the darker themes and then the levels of mystery and I am lost.

Highly recommend and this novel goes into my rare bucket of books that leave my soul gasping. Howl Avery is a new to me author and I’m a fan. Narration was perfect! Big congratulations.

Couple of things with this story…..you must go in blind. Don’t really look up too much and just listen.
The plot was well written with suspense and shock moments. It never ventured into horror but has left me uneasy….i didn’t like the story or the characters but I did like how it was written and how the characters were developed. I thought I was rooting for some people but then I wasn’t, it’s a journey! I listened in one day and I’m so glad I did. I appreciate a descent bit of writing and even though I don’t like the characters (I’m not sure you are supposed to like them) i wanted to know what happened…..if you want fluffy skip, if you want to stare at a wall for awhile then have at it……5 stars cause my brain is whirling.
The narrators were good my only criticism is that they sounded so similar I got a bit lost at who was saying what when - this could be a me thing so no shade!

Really enjoyed this one the narrators were great and I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book. I enjoyed the dynamic between the characters and liked that their public and private personalities were both vastly different but also consistent it was somehow more believable and creepy. I am glad Cas was who I thought he was I would have thrown the phone across the room if he'd turned out to be someone else, I was seriously invested!

Go in blind it's worth it.
