Probably an unpopular opinion, but having watched the full SAO anime series, it made listening to the book a more immersive experience.

For anyone looking to test the waters with their first experience of manga/anime, SAO is a really good starting point, it's where I started too.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Aincrad story, still one of the best ARCs in the SAO series.

Having Bryce narrate this was an absolute 'W'

The narrator was really good but having him voice the female characters was a mistake and massively took me out of the story.

I've heard they get the female voice actor from the anime for vol.2 onwards so that should be a huge improvement!

Good Story, OK performance.

I thought this audio book was brilliant, Kirito's voice actor did a good job reading this. Unlike other reviewers I didn't think his rendition of Asuna or other female characters was awkward or hard to listen to, I felt he did well with Asuna. The only parts I didn't like of his narration was the yelling for characters besides Kirito during the action moments, but oh well they were brief.

It was great getting a more detailed view of the world of SAO, though I was suprised to learn the light novel omitted many characters and scenes from the anime, I guess they came in side stories or something.

An insightful look into the world of SAO

What a amazing book, so Iv seen the anime series and also read the manga but never have I the original story and it just brings it all to life again, the voice acting was great, nothing I can really complain about, I remember you reading this even if a first time seeing it you don’t need to watch it just listen to this story then go watch the animated series!

Fantastic!
