About this listen

T2 Trainspotting was previously published as Porno.

Now a major film directed by Danny Boyle reuniting the cast of Trainspotting.

Years on from Trainspotting Sick Boy is back in Edinburgh after a long spell in London. Having failed spectacularly as a hustler, pimp, husband, father and businessman, Sick Boy taps into an opportunity which to him represents one last throw of the dice. However, to realise his ambitions within the Adult industries, Sick Boy must team up with old pal and fellow exile Mark Renton. Still scheming, still scamming, Sick Boy and Renton soon find out that they have unresolved issues to address concerning the unhinged Begbie, the troubled, drug-addled Spud, but, most of all, with each other.

Critic reviews

"Welsh has an uncanny talent for dialogue, and his writing is often diamond sharp." ( Publishers Weekly)

Brilliant sequel to Trainspotting.
Well narrated but unfortunately the sound quality is poor and the editing a bit harsh in places.
Other than that, great

Loved it but crap sound quality!

Although you are still getting the original ‘Porno’ story line this isn’t the full book.

Not the full book

The story was good, although, more grim than the first. The audio is terrible though the performance is great which is a shame. I had to listen on full volume and even that wasn’t great.

Great story and performance, awful audio

Fantastic build up, my only nagging problem is the background plot seems like a re-run. Like return of the jedi to star wars. You know what I mean when you've heard it. Still well worth a look, great end leaves you wanting to know what happens to them next. Narrator is great, lots of passion. I also love it when male narrators have to speak from the point of view of a women... brings out the imature lad inside of me!

Great fun, leaves you hanging... wanting more

I love Irvine Welch's books, the stories are good but I love the characters and Tam Dean Burns narration is just superb, but halfway through this book it seemed he was possessed by a 16 year old boy and his voice went up an Octive or two, it distracted me slightly but apart from that, another great story of the boys from Leith.

Don't know what happened halfway through
