Summary

A forced proximity stand-alone from small-town romance author Brooke Montgomery about a cowboy who’s ready to settle down and the single mom who’s used to doing everything alone, but reluctantly takes his help when a threat looms…I met him at a wedding and his Southern charm quickly swept me off my feet—and into his bed.

The following morning, I bailed before he woke up and never planned to see him again. As a single mom of two, my priorities are my kids, work, and school. Dating isn't even on my radar.

But when a man comes after my son and follows us home, we’re forced into hiding.

Staying at the house of my one-night stand I ghosted over a year ago is the last thing I expect when the door opens, so I do the only rational thing I can think of and pretend I don't remember him.

And I definitely don't anticipate him taking care of me when I get sick, watching my kids, or cooking for us—but he does without hesitation.

It’s impossible not to fall for him, especially when he helps me confront my past.

I'm not the only one at risk for getting attached to him, his family, or small mountain town. My kids adore him and want us to stay, but my life is complicated enough as it is—and it'd never work out.

Perfect for fans of:

Forced proximity Protective heroes Caretaking & Acts of Service

Lots of banter & angst Spicy open-door romances

All the yearning, tension, & HEA you crave.

Take My Kiss is book #3 in the Willow Branch Mountain interconnected series. Each one ends in a happily-ever-after with a hook into the next one, and although you don’t have to listen to them in order, you’ll get a better listening experience if you do.

This one was so fun... small town, forced proximity, single mom + cowboy… say less.

Colton is everything. Patient, caring, just shows up in all the ways that matter for Amelia and her kids. I loved how he never pushed her and just let things build naturally.

Amelia was so strong too. You can really feel everything she’s been through, but she still fights for her kids and herself.

Their chemistry?? so good. the banter, the tension, the soft moments… all of it worked.

And the audio was so well done. Aaron Shedlock & Meg Sylvan really brought it to life.

That bonus epilogue though!!!

Colton and Amelia’s story was packed with suspense, banter, good looking cowboys, sweet kids and a twist no one saw coming. There’s enough yearning and spice and that feel good feeling that makes it a great listen!
Meg Sylvan as Amelia gave her character all the nuances and strength of a single mom that will do anything to survive whilst also wanting to feel feminine and useful. Aaron Shedlock as Colton, his timber would make the alphabet sound smexy so Colton was of course a very smexy sounding cowboy.

Amelia & Colt were so much fun. With all the tension of one night stand expanded relationships with lots of mystery drama and quite a few surprises along the way. I can honestly say I did not see the way the plot evolved coming. These hijinx were so unexpected they were almost unbelievable and yet I loved it. Colt’s ease at parenthood with her kids was so endearing, he didn’t even blink at stepping up for them. After the turmoil of her past she deserved a man who worships her like Colt. What I love in this series is the family, every story is like coming home because we have bonded to each of these characters and so I was truly invested in Colt’s HEA. Listening to their story was like hanging out with close friends and I wanted all the details.

Meg Sylvan and Aaron Shedlock were wonderful fun as Amelia & Colt. I loved Meg’s motherly tone with Amelia, she was light and fun while still being that steadfast nurturer that comes from motherhood. Aaron had so many tones and was so playful with Colt that it was tuned right in the whole time. They truly lit up my earbuds with their chemistry and playfulness with each other. I was lost in this narration and devoured every minute.

Amelia & Colt were so much fun.
