I just want to do a massive shout out for Elizabeth Stephens. I’m a big fan of the the sci-fi romance genre although it can be extremely hit or miss in terms of quality writing.
Elizabeth Stephens is hitting all the spots for me.
Interesting world building, well developed characters and fully fledged storylines. There’s spice but so much more.
Last but not least Stephens is a black woman author who is writing great black women characters and tacking topics such as slavery with so much more nuance than usually found in this genre.
The narrators are also great which makes listening a pleasure.

A great story that gave depth to the characters and created a world that was interesting. The balance between description and storyline was spot on. I thought the male actor was amazing in the way he bought the characters to life. I very much enjoyed this book.
