As the title says, this is a guide for beginners, it gives a simplified overview of the history of Taoism and a little more in depth information about the practice and teachings of the different schools/sects. Where it differs from other books I have read on the subject is that it offers more details on Taoism in China today under the communist government and its spread across the world.
