Story: For a couple at crossroads, it was an interesting concept as far as the story goes, but I can't help wanting a bit more drama in it (guess that's my angst lover speaking). The story is cute and full of feels, and I did enjoy it, but I wish we had more time with the characters.
Narration: There's quite a large cast of characters and the narrator did a good job making them discernible. Good performance overall.

I adored this sweet second-chance love story of Drew and Ryan. I fully supported Ryan at first and was glad he stood up for himself (it was clear he had some self-confidence issues and had been misused before), but then he took it a bit too far and almost lost (or gave up) Drew anyway. He was fortunate Drew loved him enough to fight even him (Ryan) to keep them together. I adored Drew, as well. How disappointing to be so focused on your goal and moving up in order to improve your and your loved one's lives that you miss the most important thig slipping away. These two really had some serious communication issues! They both should have been talking about their plans and goals. What I really liked about the story was that there was no quick fix that just glossed everything over and made it all right. Drew did some serious groveling, maybe more than should have been necessary, but he more than proved his love. I liked the way they both learned and grew and improved their communication. The became stronger together.

The narrator was new to me, but I thought he did a great job with these characters and story. I really felt Ryan's upset, and Drew's confusion about the situation, in his voice.

I’m always game to try an audio from a new-to-me author by a new-to-me narrator. Tattooed Heart hit both of those and I grabbed it

At first, I wasn’t convinced – I hated Drew. Ryan had a super important night and his boyfriend wasn’t there. And sure, there are always reasons why someone can’t show up, but Drew doesn’t appear to have a good reason. This has been coming for a long time, but Ryan’s heart is broken and it’s over.

This is where the book begins. Now, the narrative shifts back and forth between the beginning of the relationship – showing how the men met and fell in love – while layering in Drew’s mission to win Ryan back.

I wasn’t convinced Drew could do it, but I sat back with my popcorn and prepared to watch the show as he did his best. Roping in his family as well as Ryan’s amazing coworkers/friends, Drew had secret weapons. (Two in particular – no spoilers)

I found myself smiling by the end of this audio and I really enjoyed myself. I also got a preview of the next story and I’m waiting with anticipation for the next book. I’m so glad I took a chance on this story. Sion Harrd was a great narrator and I’d happily listen to more audios from them.

This audio was just a treat and I hope for much more.

Past partner abuse and manipulation (isolation, love bombing)

Dual POV

Story of lovers that fall apart and their journey back to each other.

I wasn't 100% sure where this book was headed as I didn't remember the blurb when I stared listening to it. I was pleasantly surprised to find over 50% of this book is about Drew winning his man back. It played with power dynamics in a way that felt very right for the couple and genuine to how relationships work out in real life.

The narration was good, this is the first book I've listened to by this narrator and I really liked him.

I went into this with no expectations and it was really wonderful & well written! Second chance isn’t usually my favorite theme, but this was presented in a different way to the majority of second chance romances and the grovel & effort put in by Drew (and then later by Ryan) to reconnect were lovely!

The narration by Sion Hardd was excellent and fit the characters very well. They are a new to me narrator but I will be keeping an eye out for more from them!
