Former General Stanley McChrystal held a key position for much of the War on Terror, as head of the Joint Special Operations Command. In Iraq, he found that despite the vastly superior resources, manpower, and training of the U.S. military, Al Qaeda had an advantage because of its structure as a loose network of small, independent cells. Those cells wreaked havoc by always staying one step ahead, sharing knowledge with each other via high-tech communications.

I enjoyed the audio version as I can listen in my car.....but I found the desire to take notes so overwhelming. So much insight that's just right for me right now.

The concept of shared conscience was really interesting. I felt the book was a lot longer than it needed to be and I didn't take anything very practical away from the book. But it was a really interesting story of how the US had to create a team of teams and there is a lot to be learnt.

I found I took more notes from this book than any other I listened to. Really rang a bell for me. Excellent and highly recommended reading for those struggling to explain their need to work a different system to the norm.
