About this listen

Deep in the jungles of Peru, the hunt for a legendary Incan idol is underway - an idol that in the present day could be used as the basis for a terrifying new weapon. Guiding a US Army is Professor William Race, a young linguist who must translate an ancient manuscript which contains the location of the idol. What they find is an ominous stone temple, sealed tight. They open it - and soon discover that some doors are meant to remain unopened.©2008 Matthew Reilly (P)2008 Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd. Adventurous derring do Hero’s in The America’s. Lots of firearm information brought together in an imaginative plot.

One character needed a better ending. Sgt Leo van Lewen. Harsh Mathew, bloody harsh.

Really enjoyed this book. It mixed the Da Vinci Code with Map of Bones. Don't want to spoil it for anyone but I couldn't stop listening to it. I ended up sitting in the car at work till the last minute just so I could listen for as long as possible. Lots of twists and turns which kept you interested but not so indepth that if you missed a couple of minutes you lost the plot.

Unstoppable

Thumping pace, action, adventure, ferocious mythical cats AND Nazis? Suspend disbelief for a while and enjoy the chaos.

Great fun!

Tried Mr Reilly again after enjoying the Tournament.
Temple is much faster paced, a blur of action sequences that makes it hard to remember them all.
Sometimes a little groan worthy in clichéd moments and yet also has you thinking and sweating with tension.
The ordinary guy hero , William Race, is characterized well and you do feel his steps.
The two time traveling stories are balanced well and one never dominated the other.
Enjoyed it very much and will return to the authors other characters soon.

Audaciously Breathtaking Adventure
