Been a huge fan of the anime since release and have been reading the manga since too. This audio light novel more than does it justice. The voice acting, story, characters and works building are top notch. Definitely worth a listen even if you have seen the series, or read the manga

Rimiru is interrupted from working on his newly acquired skills, combining them into deadly attacks, and the promise of his first opportunity for a meal in his human body by a threat at the edge of the village. This heralds the advance of an unstoppable and single minded army seeking to destroy and devour, annihilating all in their path. Faced with this existential threat Rimiru must rise to the occasion in a story which features tense action, intrigue and betrayal along with malevolent forces working behind the scenes directing events.
The story also remains as witty and at times whimsical as the previous volume mainly due to Rimiru's internal dialogue which is expertly performed by Brittney Karbowski giving the character the same likability and unique voice she provides for the popular series. I hope the rest of these books are recorded in the same way as I will preorder each as they become available if so, it would lose this essential feel for me if not and I would likely finish reading them in written form sometime after the anime series finishes.
