I enjoyed this; the 7 habits are an insightful way of looking at the world positively. As a stand alone read it provides some thought provocation and really made me rethink some things, primarily about how I engage with people around me.

To get the most out of it I recommend mind mapping or book marking this for follow up personal writing/reflection and of course just trying out some of the concepts; it is unfortunate that the listeners guide is not included in the Audible purchase.

There is also quite a lot of consultancy speak and references that seem to have been shoe horned into the context of the guide. I also did not enjoy the sharpen the saw section and felt it was too intangible and subjective to the author's personal faith/beliefs

Finally, what is with the Edwardian tunes to break the sections up?!

Lots around the 8th habit but very brief on the 7

I first read the 7 habits almost 10 years ago.

Listening to a distilled but updated version was refreshing and re-awekening.

In fact I would say that the 8th habit is the bonus feature of the book.

As with most classics, re- reading (listening) to the 7 habits gave me new insights.

Perhaps because I'm at a different place in my life today, compared to where I was, when I first read the 7 habits.

In a way I wish I had imbibed those insights then.

For example; "Listening to understand rather than to be understood".

Mr Covey rightly asserts, that we listen with just enough attention to allow us frame a response.

As such we rarely, truly understand the perspective of the person we are listening to.

I'm confident you will find insights that will speak to your situation.

Finally, I could not help but reflect on the fact that, Mr Covey is still able to speak to my present, despite the gulf of eternity that seperates us.

I'm half way through and would definitely benefit from the listeners guide as mentioned in the narration...did anyone received this guide when they purchased?

The book is amazing! Too intense to assume you can listen on the go as background; calls for intensive concentration as it has great insights and how-to's. One of the books u need to read/listen more than once for recalibration!

Great listen.

This is not about the 7 habits at all, it is about the 8th, title is misleading and AUDIBLE *** needs to amend it ***. Mr Covey talks to you in a conversational style rather than being a standard book which some may like. I found the style a little slow and ponderous. Possibly good for those in business (I am not) but otherwise did not find it a personal development book as such.

Not much about the 7 habits
