About this listen

An intriguing invitation, and a deadly trap for Sherlock and Lucy.

October 1902: An intriguing invitation from H. G. Wells brings Dr. Watson face to face with a man who claims to be a time traveler from ancient Rome. The 'time traveler' wants to change history and seeks Watson's help. Skeptical, Watson dismisses him, and he vanishes in a blinding flash of light. But when the light fades, Watson and Wells make a shocking discovery.

Holmes travels to Dover to investigate, even though he's fully engaged in tracking a stolen submarine. The clues aren't definitive, but Wells, though protesting his innocence, is soon arrested for murder. When another murder occurs, Holmes realizes the stakes are sky-high. The Baker Street team must uncover the truth before a ruthless killer alters history forever.

Join beloved duos Holmes and Watson, Flynn and Becky, Lucy and Jack—even Gregson and Amy—as they risk everything to save their nation. Fans of Conan Doyle, Lee Child, Agatha Christie, and fast-paced historical mysteries will love this thrilling adventure, and all the others in this completely bingeable series.

Embark on this unforgettable journey with the Baker Street team!

The male narrator, Darren Bradford, pronounced calm, palm, and shone, incorrectly throughout the book. Surely that should have been noticed and corrected by whoever edited it.

The interesting plot.

Narration was not great. The male narrator didn't say some of his words properly. I'm guessing he is not well practiced at the English accent.
The story was read so slowly that I put the speed up by 50%.
In the end, I lost interest and couldn't wait for it to be over.

Odd narration!

Good story , deviates completely from the perspectives of the original Sherlock Holmes character, which is used merely to facilitate the new characters ….good enough story tho

Nicely read

What might have been a passable "Sherlock & Co" story, if somewhat predictable, was absolutely ruined by the narration.
Firstly I had to increase the speed, at its original pace it resembled molasses, painfully slow. Then there were unsuccessful attempts at voice theatre, giving the characters strange mannerisms of speech.
However it got worse, by the inexplicably PECULIAR pronunciation of some words; for instance these words, "Palm and Calm", spoken by a presumably "thoroughly English" Dr. John Watson, which were rendered (more than once), as "porm" and "corm". Why?!
Frankly, although I did finish the story, by about 60% through, I couldn't wait for it to be done.

The Narration Ruins It
