Summary
SweetPea defies the notion of homogeneity in families. Family is not defined by race or gender. Family is a group of people who are lovingly committed to one another. SweetPea is every child and changes with every minute. SweetPea is known only by the design in the fabric of the clothes worn exclusively by SweetPea. Likewise, Momma and Papa (Dada and Papa/Momma and Mom) change as well and are known by the print in the clothes they wear. SweetPea discovers that their actions - good and bad - have consequences, SweetPea learns to take responsibility, be kind, think of others, and always do the right thing. Written in gender neutral singular pronouns them, they, and theirs, this book dispels gender ideations of male and female.
