As I haven’t listened to the series for over a year it was good to catch up and I appreciated the reminders.

I love the narration and the storylines in this series. Such warmth and, as with alchemy, intention is everything. You can feel the love the author has for her characters.

I'm a big fan of this series, although do confess to yelling "don't be so stupid " to our erstwhile heroine at one point. This is another excellent Installment, a clever story, and I'm loving the way the characters, thanks to the excellent narrator, have become old friends to me as I've listened over the last few years. I also long to sit down for breakfast with Dorian, who is, of course, my favourite gargoyle.

Finally something that focuses on the Flamel couple as well :) or at least one of them ;) I enjoyed it more for that reason alone, and because alchemy once again took center stage. The ending wrapped things up a little too quickly, and in some places rather conveniently, but it was still a great read. I still think the narrator deserves a lot of the credit for getting me this far into the series.
