About this listen

New Amerland was designed and built by survivors of the Incident. Those were the people who, by some miracle, managed to get underground before the bombs fell; they managed to lock away themselves and their families and to survive the worst nuclear attack in history. A lucky few would be selected by lottery and handed a ticket for free. At least 50 percent failed the test and were fated to die on their desolate and degraded planet.

An amazing book, keeping you believing you know whats happening throughout, until the closing chapters and all of a sudden you question everything. A brilliant read.

Well... I didn't see that coming.

There are all the ingredients for a great novel here,: action, characters, love interests, sadness, and sci-fi.

Somehow though it all comes together, and it gets a real end without cliffhangers, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the elements would predict.

I had trouble drumming up empathy for the characters. The narrator tried way, way too hard most of the time. And some characters had dominant traits that never really came into the story.

But, it’s a solid listen. It has great plot that keeps you guessing. And you may have more empathy for the characters thsn I did.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review.

A sci-fi mystery

This was more like A Barbara Cartland novella in parts maybe aimed at or written by an adolescent teenager. The Sci Fi seemed tacked on.

Pseudo Sci Fi
