If you are like me and know next to nothing about gardening (as a food source or just at all lol) but are looking for a place to start this book is for you! I appreciated the explanation of the different types of gardens (especially the "survival" garden!). I also thought the list of tools/supplies was super helpful. The information about the different types of plants, how far apart to plant them, when to plant them, etc. is such incredible information to have - I will definitely be referring back to this book over and over. Highly recommend it!

Anyone who wants to cultivate crops in their backyard should definitely check out this great resource.This book offers useful companion gardening charts that assist you choose which plants are best to grow together and which ones are not. Learning about good soil health and the mineral deficiencies to watch out for when producing crops was also helpful to me. There were lots of useful hints regarding the kinds of weeds that serve as markers for the condition of the soil. This book also describes the many kinds of pests and how to reduce their evasiveness without using pesticides.Definitely recommend this book!

I found this book to be very helpful as a new gardener. The take on vertical gardening is really helpful if you're in the city with a small plot to work with.
