This is a good series with fab characters, and the stories always deliver what 'it says on the tin'. I do feel that the ending didn't quite tie up the initial crime, with no reference to the very clear assault before the murder, but other than that a good listen.

I know what I’m getting from this author.. good writing and character development spiced with some interesting plot twists and turns brilliantly delivered by the talented Clare Corbett.
I especially enjoy getting to know the main characters.. I can engage with them and almost inhabit their’ world’(as an observer), which, after all, should be one of the main purposes of reading or listening to fiction?
The narrators voice is very important to me - if I can’t get on with their voice, or can’t distinguish between the different characters then I’m not going to buy the book- no matter how well written it is. Clare Corbett is amongst the best I’ve listened to.
If you like crime fiction with good character development and interesting locations then you’ll enjoy anything written by Sally Rigby.

I love sally and have read and thoroughly enjoyed all her books so far. Sorry, but this one wasn’t just quite up to the usual standard.

I enjoyed this book especially as I wasn’t sure o needed a bit more crime fiction in my life right now. And overall the performance was good. I couldn’t always engage with the narrator as much as I normally would.
