I was really looking forward to reading this book, having really enjoyed the Keeper of Stories. Sadly, at 12 chapters in, this book is not meeting expectations.
My impression of The Book of Beginnings is that this book serves as a blatant advertising campaign for Sally Page’s range of fountain pens. Also, if I hear the phrase ‘A place for everything and everything in it’s place’ I think my ears will bleed.
I’ll persevere and see if it improves, I’m really hoping that the characters and the story will develop and this will put it back on track.

I so wanted to love this book…

It took me a while to get into it as the sentences are short and simple. However, I got more and more drawn into the story and the characters. It was read very well, and was a feel good uplifting story.

I loved the characters in this story! Especially Ruth. The Scottish accent that the reader did really made her come alive! I’m sad I won’t be hearing from her again now…..an opening there Sally???

Nothing to worry you.
