Summary

Shortlisted for the Philip K. Dick Award

The Book of Koli begins a breathtakingly original new trilogy set in a strange and deadly world of our own making.

Beyond the walls of the small village of Mythen Rood lies an unrecognisable landscape. A place where overgrown forests are filled with choker trees and deadly seeds that will kill you where you stand. And if they don't get you, the Shunned men will.

Koli has lived in Mythen Rood his entire life. He believes the first rule of survival is that you don't venture too far beyond the walls.

He's wrong.

It started slowly whilst introducing the characters, but once into the book it began to grip you. Another masterpiece by Carey

A great story read by a fabulous reader perfectly attuned to the narrative and the characters. Another triumph for Carey - now on to book two!

Great book with a new world expertly built by the author and brought to life by the narrator.
Good well rounded characters and plenty of action.
A truly great story

Brilliant book

The narrator really needs to watch some anime before attempting to voice a perky Japanese girl again. As it stands he sounds like a Vietnam war era prostitute, just think "me love you long time, fye dolla!".
Otherwise, a good performance that suits a great story.

Enjoyable, but...
