Critic reviews
A page-turner of non-stop action that should leave his fans begging for more
He's more mysterious than Bond, more real than Batman and more complex than Bruce Willis
A fast-paced thriller from a reliable master
A superspy to rival Bond

Much better than the Film

The narration was clear and easy to understand (I have had books that were poorly narrated), the book was enjoyable but I was left with the impression that if I had read the first book before the file came out, I probably would have never watched the films.
That said, this is a very good start to a very good series and I will definitely collect the rest of the Audio books and the printed books.
I like this series and hope that the future books are as good or better as the plots continue to pile up.
Bourne series Book 1 (not what I expected)

on audio. I have since read the reviews but tend to disagree with the majority about the narrator. But then I’m no expert and that is just my opinion but I personally found no fault.
New to Jason Bourne

I’m sure some very clever people thought this was absolutely amazing. There are study guides for this book on the open market. Good luck to them. Some very clever people are welcome to it, as far as I’m concerned.
Jason doesn’t know who he is, but that’s okay, because his girlfriend is quite happy to talk it through with him. Over and over and over and over.
And then there are these people, high up in the US government, who have meetings. Really, really LONG meetings, in which they all talk grimly without actually saying anything.
And then there’s the bad guys, who meet in dark corners and whisper in hushed tones, and they have furtive meetings that go over and over an over and over the same things, without actually moving anything on.
And then Jason works out that somebody knows something, and when he tracks them down he’s rough with them, until they finally tell him something. Obviously , this takes a really, really, really long time, because everyone has so much to say, even if they’ve got nothing to talk about.
Alpha is for Charlie, Kane is for – SHUT UP! SHUT UP!!! FOR GOD’S SAKE. SOMEBODY JUST SHOOT HIM!!!!
Oh, and guys, if you want to get lucky? Just kidnap a woman and use her as a human shield. Seems to do the trick.
Make it stop

Story: am a huge fan of the movies, so if you are expecting similarities you will be disappointed . The book is vastly different. Not superior, just different...and for me...this is so refreshing, I feel I have learnt more about Bourne, what motivates him.
I have still to make my mind up as to whether he is saint or sinner, which is perfect.
I wanted to give the story 5 stars, but alas I cannot, my issue is the repetitive nature of some of the narrative, which appeared to me a 'lack of inspiration' at that given moment. This is a minor niggle, but enough of one to warrant comment.
I have already downloaded book 2 - so yes I recommend it.
'too much kindness........makes me nervous,' quote...hmmmmm!
Get lost in intrigue for a while...recommended
