About this listen

Books 1-3 and the prequel novella of the Breakers series. In the Breakers series, humanity faces not one apocalypse, but two: first a lethal pandemic, then a war against those who made the virus.

i was a little worried about getting this book, but I'm glad I did. Brilliant good story, with plenty of twists, much better than i was expecting.

great book

Listening at 1.25 speed dramatically improved things, but the narration is still terrible - hammy, overwrought and cartoonish.

Storyline isn’t bad, as light entertainment. Many of the characters are so unlikeable that you’d be rooting for the enemy.

Spoiled by narration

Good story, distracted by the fact that the narrator sounds like he needs to blow his nose or have his adenoids out...

Has narrator got a cold?

first tip. play the book at 1.3x speed or more otherwise the narrator will drive you mad.
the prequel is a stand alone so far and pretty good.
if you fancy an alternative zombie like alien invasion this book will suit.

not really what I expected. post apocalypse story

The story is great, really good but the monotone, dreary and dull voice of the narrator made it really difficult to persevere to the end. Turned what could have been a great listen into a hard slog.

Great story but....
